 | | | | | | | | Season : 2008 (31) | | | | | | | | | Competition : Cockspur Cup (2) | | | | | | | | | | 18/05/2008 14:00 | | Home | Won | | | Batting first Alfreton struggled to 167-10 off their 45 overs. Naurmaan Ali (3-21) & Rob Chipps (3-33) were the best bowlers. The regular flow of wickets stopped any momentum building in the Alfreton innings. Skipper Hamid Khan then took control of the match. He hit a fluent 82* and with support from Paul Miles (35) & Collis King (33) the team raced to their target in just 24 overs. They now face York in the next round. | | 08/06/2008 13:00 | | Home | Lost | | | A strong York side overcame the 1st XI who played well, but never truely threatened to win. Full report later. | Competition : Friendly (1) | | | | | | | | | | 11/05/2008 14:00 | | Home | Won | | Costcutter | After a great function on Saturday night to celebrate the completion of the new Scorebox, the 1st team played a Costcutter Invitational XI to complete the festivities. A great game was dominated by some high quality bowling, from some of the best bowlers in the Yorkshire & Bradford leagues. The home team nicked a win in the final over. Batting first on a red hot afternoon the Costcutter team made 118 in their 32 overs. This was down to some tight bowling & smart fielding throughout the team. The Dunnington innnings was dominated by Jack Bolam, he made 57* to steer the team to victory. | Competition : Hunters League Cup (2) | | | | | | | | | | 26/05/2008 14:00 | | Home | Won | | | Dunnington dominated this match from the off. The bowlers always looked on top, Naurman Ali grabbing 4 wickets and Rob Chipps 2. The Thirsk target of 127 always looked low and was achieved easily by Harwood Williams 49* and Collis King 52*. | | 20/07/2008 14:00 | | Home | Lost | | | The weather spoilt what should have been a great cup tie. Batting first in good conditions Woodhouse reached 224 thanks to a Nick Hadfield century. Once it was Dunnington's turn to bat the showers started & the run chase was adjusted with each over lost. There was no continuity with the batting either and the final total of 122 was well short of even the adjusted total. To add to the woes Hamid Khan visited hospital for stitches in his hand and Oral Blackford turned his ankle in the field. | Competition : League (22) | | | | | | | | | | 26/04/2008 13:00 | | Home | Lost | 7 | Colin Dodsworth Plastering | Dunnington opened the 2008 campaign with a disappointing defeat to one of last year's promoted teams. Batting first they reached 168-10 largely through the contributions of Jack Bolam 40* & new skipper Hamid Khan 39. Goole lost 8 wickets in reaching their target. Oral Blackford took 4-57 and Kash Mahmood 3-34. Overseas signing Kelvin Patterson failed to make the match & remains in Barbados. | | 03/05/2008 13:30 | | Away | Won | 30 | Colin Dodsworth Plastering | This was an important match given the unexpected defeat against Goole in the opening match. Things didn't get much better during the Dunnington innnings. Asked to bat first on a sticky wicket they could only manage 115, which even allowing for the wicket looked below par. Collis King just missed his 50 when caught on 49. Things changed after the break. Blackford's figures were 18-11-18-3 and Patterson took 5-26 to leave Malton on 66-10. The maxium 30 points were secured. | | 10/05/2008 13:30 | | Home | Draw | 25 | Colin Dodsworth Plastering | The first’s found that scoring nearly 300 wasn’t enough as Thirsk batted comfortably to reach 221-4 in reply. Skipper Hamid Khan lead the way with a great knock of 141*. He was helped by Harwood Williams (55*) & Jack Bolam (56). 293-3 was always oing to be a tough target for Thirsk, however, none of the bowlers were able to make much of an impression on the batting for whom, veteran Des Wyrill carried his bat for 94*. Dave Kitching has the best return with 9-3-42-2. | | 17/05/2008 13:30 | | Away | Lost | 5 | Colin Dodsworth Plastering | The 1st XI slipped to a disappointing defeat at last year's champions. A total of 171 was a good recovery after being 10-3, but was never likely to be enough. Jack Bolam top scored with 36. Clifton got the runs in the 36th over with 5 wickets to spare. Kash Mahmood & Oral Blackford took 2 wickets each. | | 24/05/2008 13:30 | | Away | Draw | 25 | | The 1sts easily dominated this match but were unable to finish it off and take all 10 Zingari wickets. Hamid Khan 65, Collis King 58, Jack Bolam 33, Kelvin Patterson 38, Naurmaan Ali 28 & Rob Chipps 21* all got into the runs in a total of 277-8. Zingari reached 227-7 with Oral Blackford taking 4-46. | | 31/05/2008 13:30 | | Home | Won | 30 | | The 1st XI had a fairly straightforward win over Pickering who are now captained by Dave Greenlay. Kelvin Patterson's 4-40 helped restrict Pickering to 180-8. Hamid Khan (62), Harwood Williams(69*) & Collis King (34*) cruised to the target at 185-1 | | 07/06/2008 13:30 | | Away | Lost | 7 | | Kelvin Patterson's 9-59 were not enough to win this match. After bowling Woodhouse out for 132, Dunnington must have expected to win but Joel Hughes took 7-60 as Woodhouse fought back to win by 6 runs. Only Kashif Mahmood was able to reach a respectable score with 46. | | 14/06/2008 13:30 | | Away | Lost | 7 | | The 1st team had a disappointing journey to Easingwold, where they lost their 4th match of the season, leaving them 5th from bottom of the Premiership table. Easingwold made 232-8, Kashif Mahmood taking 4-74 and Oral Blackford 3-51. Dunnington were all out for just 155, Skipper Hamid Khan making 60 and Paul Miles 27. | | 21/06/2008 13:30 | | Home | Rain | 9 | | Once the weather set in this match was abandoned. Dunnington had fought back from a position of 19-4 to 64-4 thanks to Harwood Williams & Kelvin Patterson. | | 28/06/2008 13:30 | | Away | Draw | 27 | | A return to form for the 1sts lead by veteran Collis King who batted through the innnings to score 115*. This was his 37th century in the Y&DSCL and it increases the number of consecutive seasons in which he has scored a century to 12. He was ably assited by Jack Bolam (54) and Kelvin Patterson (48) who himself was back to his big hitting best, hitting one six well out of the ground. Dunnington finished on 240-4 then Sessay managed to hold on by just one wicket for a losing draw. They finished on 151-9, Rob Chipps was leading bowler with 4-19. | | 05/07/2008 13:30 | | Home | Rain | 9 | | This match was abandoned without starting | | 12/07/2008 13:30 | | Away | Rain | 9 | | This match was cancelled on the morning of the match due to a waterlogged pitch | | 19/07/2008 13:30 | | Home | Draw | 9 | | This was another match affected by weather for the 1st team. Malton had made 219-5 with Oral Blackford taking 3-63, when the rain started. No further play was possible following an incredible downpour. | | 26/07/2008 13:30 | | Away | Lost | 4 | | | | 02/08/2008 13:30 | | Home | Draw | 27 | | | | 09/08/2008 13:30 | | Home | Rain | 9 | | | | 16/08/2008 13:30 | | Away | Lost | 2 | | | | 23/08/2008 13:30 | | Home | Draw | 13 | | Paul Miles lead from the front with the bat in skipper Hamid Khan's absence. He was undefeated on 43 as the team secured a draw from a match that had swung towards both sides several times before reaching its conclusion. Woodhouse reached 212 as Kelvin Patterson followed his nine wicket haul at the Grange earlier in the season, with 6-58. Dunnington looked to be on course whilst Harwood Williams (32) and Patterson (33) were together and then again when Kashif Mahmood (41) was in full flow but they eventually had to hang on for the draw. | | 25/08/2008 13:30 | | Away | Draw | 26 | | The 1sts returned to some sort of form with a winning draw at Acomb. Stand in skipper Paul Miles scored 77* and Collis King 50* in a total of 187-5. Acomb reached 141-8 by the end of their 50 overs, Oral Blackford taking 3-51 and Numan Ali 4-25. | | 30/08/2008 13:00 | | Home | Draw | 7 | | Another disappointing result for the 1st team against an Easingwold side who have also struggled this season. Easingwold scored 212-7, Kelvin Patterson the only bowler to feature with 4-77. Dunnington held on for the draw with returning skipper Hamid Khan scoring 50, youngster Gareth Miles 25 and Patterson 48. They finished on 158-8, frustratingly two runs short of the "three quarters" target that would have brought another 5 points. | | 06/09/2008 13:00 | | Away | Rain | 9 | | This was another match not started because of the weather | | 13/09/2008 13:00 | | Home | Rain | 9 | | The final match was a victim of the week's downpours. The pitch was too wet to play on and the match was abandoned without a ball being bowled. | Competition : Sawkill Cup (3) | | | | | | | | | | 10/06/2008 18:30 | | Away | Won | | | This was a straightforward victory set up by Collis King's fine 50, ably supported by Jack Bolam & Rob Chipps. This allowed skipper Hamid Khan the luxury of giving the younger players a bowl at the end. Jack Lehuray, Tom Wilson & Jonny Andrew all bowled well on their 1st Team debuts. | | 17/06/2008 18:30 | | Stamford | Won | | | Dunnington won this exciting, high scoring tie in the last over after Skipper Hamid Khan & veteran Collis King had set the foundations. Bowling first Numaan Ali took 3-25 to help restrict Clifton to 134 off only 16 overs. After losing Kelvin Patterson early, Khan (75) & King (41) took control. There were late wickets but Dunnington made it home with 3 balls to spare. | | 08/07/2008 18:30 | | Stamford | Won | | | Our first, and likely our only trophy of the season was achieved in a thoroughly enjoyable match at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night. Chasing down a good Woodhouse total of 145 from 16 overs, Dunnington paced the reply well to finish with an over to spare. Collis King with 55 & Harwood Williams with 53* did most of the damage, Paul Miles finished in style with a big six over midwicket. Numan Ali's tight four over spell brought him the man of the match award. | Competition : Senior Charity Cup (1) | | | | | | | | | | 20/05/2008 18:30 | | Away | Conceded | | | This match was regrettably conceded when we were unable to raise a team. | Season : 2007 (30) | | | | | | | | | Competition : Cockspur Cup (1) | | | | | | | | | | 29/04/2007 14:00 | | Home | Lost | | Persimmon Homes |
| Competition : League (22) | | | | | | | | | | 28/04/2007 13:00 | | Away | Lost | 1 | Air Supply |
| | 05/05/2007 13:00 | | Home | Lost | 6 | Phil Wood Electrical |
| | 12/05/2007 13:30 | | Away | Draw | 13 | | | | 19/05/2007 13:30 | | Away | Won | 30 | | | | 26/05/2007 13:30 | | Home | Won | 30 | Phil Wood Electrical | This week belonged to the Burn Hall 1st Team, whose 2 victories continued their fightback after a poor start to the season. On Saturday the defeated league leaders Acomb. Harwood Williams (74), Hammed Khan (109) & Collis King (72*), helped the team compile 293 runs in their allotted 50 overs. Then Oral Blackford (4-33) and Kelvin Patterson (3-28) helped clean up Acomb for just 143 in 38 overs. | | 02/06/2007 13:30 | | Away | Won | 30 | | The team continued their winning run with a comprehensive victory over Thirsk. Oral Blackford destroyed the Thirsk batting line up with 5-38, restricting them to just 116-10. In reply Collis King hit 46 not out as Dunnington passed the target with 5 wickets and 15 overs to spare. | | 09/06/2007 13:30 | | Home | Lost | 6 | | A shocking bowling & fielding display saw the team throw away a match that should have been closed out easily. At least 7 catches were dropped and most of the bowling made Steve Harmison's current form look world class. Earlier Williams 50, Khan 65, Miles 36* & Mahmood 31 had helped post a reasonable score of 237-8. However complacency set in and despite needing 10+ an over for the last 10 overs SHB were never out of it. They achieved a well deserved victory from a scrambled leg bye off the last ball. | | 16/06/2007 13:30 | | Away | Draw | 9 | | Due to the deluges of the previous week, this match was called off by Zingari early on the morning of the fixture. | | 23/06/2007 13:30 | | Away | Won | 30 | | Despite only scoring 123, the team won convincingly after their pace bowlers took advantage of the conditions at Heworth. Batting first the innings was held together by Hammed Khan, who made an excellent 70, Paul Miles & Kashif Mahmood were the only other players to get into double figures. However the team's fortunes changed once they took the field. Oral Blackford (4-36) & Kelvin Patterson (5-27) destoyed the oposition to leave them 52 short of their target on 72-10. | | 30/06/2007 13:30 | | Home | Draw | 9 | | Despite playing through steady drizzle for 30 overs this match was eventually abandoned. At that stage Dunnington had reached 137-3 through contributions from Hammed Khan (59) & Collis King (45*). | | 07/07/2007 13:30 | | Away | Draw | 27 | | The 1st team got the better of a draw to move within 1 point of their opponents in the league table. Easingwold hung on by the skin of their teeth after Kash Mahmood (4-61) & Kelvin Patterson (3-57) had reduced them to 202-9. Earlier Dunnnington had reached 253-7 through contributions from Collis King (84), Hammed Khan (47) & Kelvin Patterson, whose 42 came off just 15 balls. | | 14/07/2007 13:30 | | Home | Draw | 9 | | A controversial match was abandoned after 12 overs when the Umpires decided the pitch was unsafe for further play. Earlier play had been delayed until 4.00pm and reduced to 30 overs per side. The pitch had been affected by the previous day's rain and was given time to dry out fully. Dunnington won the toss & elected to field but after a ball from Patterson hit one of the Woodhouse batsmen in the chest, the Umpires made their decision. | | 21/07/2007 13:30 | | Away | Draw | 9 | | This match was abandoned without a ball being bowled. | | 28/07/2007 13:30 | | Home | Won | 30 | | The last wicket pair of Simon Richardson & 16YO Bradley Swainston, rescued the match in a tense closing spell. Set 218 to win by Malton after Hammed Khan had taken 5-57, Dunnington appeared to be cruising. Harwood Williams (44), Khan (40), Jack Bolam (30) set up the reply, but a mid innings collapse left the final pair exposed. Swainston's famous forward defensive was reliably solid for two balls and Richardson was able to leave the next ball which the keeper missed resulting in the 4 byes needed to win the game. | | 04/08/2007 13:30 | | Home | Draw | 20 | | In another nailbiter, this time Dunnington lost out in the final over. Set 245 to win, after bowling Clifton out in the 50th over, the side needed 6 to win off 3 balls when Collis King was run out. Earlier Kelvin Patterson took 5-78 & Oral Blackford 3-44 before Harwood Williams hit 45, Dave Greenlay 43, Collis King 63, Patterson 26 & Jack Bolam 29. | | 11/08/2007 13:30 | | Away | Won | 30 | | More runs for leading batsman Harwood Williams (73) and more wickets for leading bowler Kelvin Patterson (5-62) helped Dunnington to a comfortable victory against Acomb. Batting first Acomb could only reach 192-9 in their 50 overs. Williams was helped in the run chase by Hammed Khan (44) & Collis King (37). The target was reached in the 40th over for the loss of just 4 wickets. | | 18/08/2007 13:30 | | Home | Draw | 9 | | | | 25/08/2007 13:00 | | Away | Won | 30 | | | | 27/08/2007 13:00 | | Home | Won | 30 | | This match started as a struggle but ended as an easy victory after Zingari collapsed to just 61-10. Batting first Dunnington started poorly reaching 25-3 and then 95-6. A partnership of 76 from Gareth Miles (33) & Jack Bolam (50*) rescued the innings, which finished at 187-8. Hammed Khan (45) & Paul Miles (27) also made valuable contributions. The Zingari reply lasted just 24.2 overs, Kash Mahmood was in superb form taking 8-32. | | 01/09/2007 13:00 | | Home | Won | 30 | | This was a comfortable victory for the 1st XI, however with other results going against them, they can no longer win the league this year. Choosing to bat first, runs were easy to come by, Kelvin Patterson, promoted to open scored 61 off just 50 balls. Collis King, needing 100 to continue his run of 11 seasons with at least one century, was left stranded on 96*. Harwood Williams chipped in with 75. In reply Heworth made a respectable total of 224-10. Oral Blackford (3-53) & Kelvin Patterson (4-48) did most of the damage with the ball. | | 08/09/2007 13:00 | | Away | Draw | 27 | | Clifton Alliance secured the championship this week with a win over Easingwold. However this match was far from a dead rubber due to Dunnington batsman Collis King's record breaking feat. Collis narrowly failed to score a century last week (96*), which would have extended his run to one in each of the last 12 seasons. This week he was not to be denied. He again entered the final over in the 90's. He reached his ton in style hitting the 2nd ball for four & the 3rd ball for six. It was his 36th century in the Y&DSCL, the Dunnington total of 320-3 was the 6th highest total ever recorded in the Premier league. Earlier the innings got off to a flying start through Kelvin Patterson's 63 & Hamed Khan's 73, Skipper Harwood Williams also contributed 52* (27 balls) in an unbroken stand of 131 with King. In reply Pickering reached 212-8, Kashif Mahmood was the leading bowler with figures of 3-56. | | 15/09/2007 13:00 | | Home | Lost | 4 | | Dunnington ended the season as the started with a comprehensive defeat. Having already secured 3rd place in the league, the team chose to bat first and were dismissed for 192. Hamid Khan's 75 took him to 901 runs for the season, later confirmed as the season's best for the Premier Division. Dave Greenlay made his first significant contribution with the bat this season with 52. Easingwold didn't lose a wicket in their reply reaching their target in the 41st over. | Competition : League Cup (3) | | | | | | | | | | 03/07/2007 14:00 | | Away | Won | | | | | 15/07/2007 14:00 | | Away | Abandoned | | | Only one over was possible before the heavens opened. The match will now be re-arranged. | | 28/07/2007 11:30 | | Home | Lost | | | The rules were 5 bowlers for each team take 2 balls each at a full set of stumps. Sounds easy, but it is obviously harder than it seems as between them both sides only hit the wickets 4 times in 19 balls. Sessay triumphed 3-1 after Dave Greenlay failed to hit the wickets with his first ball, his second ball not required. Kash Mahmood was the only Dunnington bowler to hit. | Competition : Sawkill Cup (2) | | | | | | | | | | 12/06/2007 18:30 | | Home | Won | | | Another easy victory in the second leg of the double header against Dringhouses. Early domination by Kelvin Patterson 4-4-3 & Gerard Camplejohn 2-7-2, followed by Hugh Husbands 4-17-2 reduced the opposition to 64-8 off 16 overs. Jack Bolam led the response with a confident 39* ably supported by Hugh Husbands 15*. The total was achieved in the 10th over. | | 10/07/2007 18:30 | | Away | Conceded | | | Having moved the fixture several times becuase of the weather and with the final scheduled for Friday, Dunnington were unable to field a team due to other committments and had to concede the tie. | Competition : Senior Charity Cup (2) | | | | | | | | | | 05/06/2007 18:30 | | TBC | Won | | | In the first of a double header, Dunnington had a comfortable win against Dringhouses in the Senior Charity cup. Batting first Collis King and Harwood Williams made the game safe, reaching 166 in 16 (8 ball) overs. This allowed the team to use a predominantly 2nd team bowling attack and safely defend the total. The return match is at the same time & place next Tuesday but this time in the Sawkill Cup | | 03/07/2007 18:15 | | Acomb | Lost | | | The team were well beaten after only reaching 94 in their 16 overs. Dave Greenlay lead the scoring for Dunnington. In reply Woodhouse reached their target for the loss of just one wicket. |
