All players performed very well and there was a good team spirit. Acomb fielded fantastically well, but with more practise Dunnington should soon be able to beat similar opposition. The win was based on some fine stright bowling with very few wides conceded. The fielding was also top notch. Will Dalton was the star this week with 3-6 from his two overs and 15 runs when batting. The ever reliable Harry Griffiths scored 11 and took 1-6. Rory Thompson and Harrison Mussell took one wicket each. Good batting from Matthew McPherson (17), Harry Griffiths (13) & Rory Thompson (12) produced a total of 278 (303-5). Tight bowling from Harry (2-11), Rory (2-8) & Hayden Bradley (1-8) was not quite enough as Clifton ran out winners with 288 (313-5). Youngsters Finlay Smith & Charlie Cresswell, making his debut, both did well. |
