Batting first Jack Lehuray and Eshan Malhotra helped take their total to a respectable 85-6 in their 10 overs. Coach Dave Wilson explained that the format takes some getting used to. He thinks the boys will have learnt from this & we won't see as many run outs next week. In reply Osbaldwick reached their target in the penultimate over. Tom Wilson his opening partner got 12 and Eshan Malhotra scored 10 lower down the order.
Again the bowlers did their best to defend the score. Ollie Smith threw the wickets down to run out the Dringhouse opener from the first ball, but this was a false dawn & the remaining batsmen saw them home. Dunnington shared the runs in their reply. Only skipper Tom Wilson missed out, whilst chasing runs late on. Malhotra got 10, Souter 13, Smith 12 and Jack Lehuray 14. Wilson finished with figures of 7-2 from his 2 overs. Eshan Malhotra had started the comeback the previous over by taking 2 wickets, he finished with 2-17. Ollie Souter bowled 2 tight overs for just 7 runs.
Earlier Malhotra (13) had opening the innnings with Adam Dyson (17), their partnership formed the basis of the Dunnington innings. Ollie Smith batted well later in the order scoring 24. The U15's recorded only their second league win of the season with a convincing win over Yapham. Batting first, Yapham reached a respectable 93-4 from 18 overs, with Sam Tattersall recording figures of 2-17 in 4 overs, before they were blown away by Dunnington's Mike Shaw and Captain Adam Sutcliffe, who ammassed an unbroken second wicket partnership of 73. Sutcliffe finished unbeaten on 48, just two runs away from a second 50 in two matches, while Shaw reached 36. The U15 are building momentum now after a slow start to the season. Faced with a tough target of 107, Mike Shaw lead the way with 49 no. Chasing a low total of 74, the reply was built around an opening stand of 58 from Adam Sutcliffe & Mike Shaw. after a quick flurry of wickets Mr Dependable Sam Tattersall hit the winning runs. It was a night to forget for Lawrence Blackater who batted at No.3 after inadvertently walking out to open the innnings with only one pad on. He then failed to trouble the scorers when he did get to the crease. |
